some question on Avante/Elantra...

1.If chassis no. stated "MHD08Dxxxxxx",does no. "08" mean year of make...?

2.Avante got alarm key/panic button...?

3.Power window only auto-down,no auto-up..?

4.everytime door is open,both signal light blinking..why is that...can disable it {quite annoying}

5.My documentation comes with
-Elantra Owner manual
-APM warranty booklet for aircond {need to service at APM outlet???}
-2DIN CD,MP3 Audio Owner's manual
-Extended warranty service information booklet

anything I'm missing...some forummer say they got Leather seat warranty booklet..?

6.When I bought the 2009 Avante,all the tyres were fitted with Goodyear NCT5 dated back 16th week of 2008....is it normal or maybe I can request new set of tyres due to almost 2 years old..?

7.Exhaust extractor & few nuts look rusty when I took delivery of the car..is it normal..?

Sorry for too many noob questions...TQ.

Yeah, I wanted to ask the same noob quesiton as well....I have the similar question on my avante as well
1. My chasis also MHD08Dxxxxxx ... :( although the grant stated "tahun dibuat" is 2010 ...... waaaa~!!
2. Mine don't have as well.... isk.. isk..
3. I think is normal, hv checked with the SA.
4. ha, I ask the same question when I collect my car...... the sales say is normal wor... :(
5. oh, you reminded me of the  Leather seat warranty booklet..... will go back to claim back then.
6. mine also same... :( is everyone hv the same?? should we go back to change? seems not right to have a 2 years tyre with brand new car (some more say is 2010 car)

1.JPJ card says year make 2009..just out of curiosity only.
2.I only got 2 set of keys,but no panic alarm button....or is it panic alar button same as remote boot opening button?
3.Missing the auot-up function then.
4.Yup..a bit annoying and afraid it'll drain battery also.
5.later i'll try to upload some photos

6. ..and found that red light at bottom-edge of both front doors not working at all....in what condition does the red light at bottom-edge of fronts door will be lighted?

Try this,

Press unlock/disarm button for about 10sec. you'll get your panic button. After that, press disarm button again to off it.

You can also make your remote silent by pressing the lock button for about 10 sec also.

The indicator does not link to our seatbelt.... so it will just blink for a while after starting up and then goes off. So basically it's not inteligent. It's just a reminder and nothing more.

hi bro,sis.... Just get myself a new avante, did a 1k services last weekend. Did a highway drive to 120-140km, feels stable like @ home  ... but notice that after service, the car seems to be a lil bit more bumpy thn before, even on a straight road...something like the power canot come out, or the injection not smooth.... with RPM1.5-2k. Anybody know what is the problem? Is tht engine problem? or spring/absorber is lose?
